Coming to, and leaving Oslo:
You will be flying to Oslo Airport Gardermoen. From there you will take the airport express train to Oslo central station, or eventually one more stop: the National Theater. From there you have a wide selection of hotels to choose from in the very city center. You will take the same route back to the airport to catch your flights. I highly recommend being arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before any international flights, as security theater (sorry) security control may have long waiting lines. For your simple convenience, they have a webcam showing traffic right in front of the security controls (lower left). Lots of people <= 30 minutes waiting to get through security.

Staying in Oslo:
Hotels in Norway have good standards in general, but personally I've stayed at, and can recommend these hotels in the inner city center of Oslo (Google Maps info). We'll try to get our speakers into the top 4 hotels on this list, as they are all within very short walking distance. Not just that, but they are perfectly located to get quickly to the conference location.

Expect temperatures around 0 Celsius (32F), rain & wind. Best case: cold, white snow, blue skies. Worst case: very cold, rain & wind. Lovely, just lovely. :-)
Surviving in Oslo:
You need a prepaid SIM card for phone, texting and outbound SSH access. Lots of shops available, but you have to bring valid ID (passport, drivers license, credit card with picture & signature) to get one. Additionally most hotels, cafes & restaurants offers free Wi-fi.
Eating in Oslo:
Go outside your hotel. If you can't find a restaurant.... Ask for help from the locals :-)
I will be updating this page frequently over the coming weeks & months as we get closer to Passwords^12. If you are missing any type of information, please let me know and I'll try to add something useful ASAP.
